Wounded

Recycled PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) plastic bottles, resin and oxidized nickelsilver
Concerned, as part of a consumer society, by our excessive use of plastics with the consequent damage to the environment, I recycle PET plastic (polyethylene terephthalate) from water and soda bottles.
The project aims to change the destination of a short-lived material born to be waste and turns it into a powerful agent. Moreover, it intends to give discarded plastic a protagonist role in jewellery pieces granting it the noble nature of an extended life. Further, endurance and portability as conditions inherent to jewel entity are factors that facilitate the message to be spread.
Today, only a small amount of plastics is reused and a great part is dumped, reaching the oceans.
Wounded refers in its configuration to organic world although presenting a different nature that enhances the PET plastic paradox: a synthetic material becomes protagonist of a universe that is mirror of life.
Still, it is a wounded breath. Nature and especially marine life are gasping their lasts efforts, striving to survive. It is high time to take care of this side of the mirror. Life is ticking out.
