Two Hundred and Forty Millilitres
Anna Burger-Martindale
Silver, used glass fentanyl viles
This piece is made from the 120 vials of fentanyl that my father used as pain killer while he was dying of cancer. 4 years later and fentanyl addiction and overdose is becoming an epidemic in Canada. For us this drug was a small relief in a horrible few months, for others I know it is the cause of horror. This piece is a documentation of the worst 6 months of m life, it is not praise for fentanyl or condemnation of it. When worn the piece shows the fragility of the wearers position, it is heavy on the shoulders and if you aren't carful the glass can break and you could cut yourself.
