Today‘s consumer culture is an exaggeration and so is my jewellery collection. My pieces incorporate iconic jewellery elements such as diamonds, gems, pearls and chains. However they are too shiny, too huge – in general too much of everything. The collection „STRN-N“ with its bizarre materiality addresses the problems we have in making choices. We are permanently indecisive and overchallenged by the tons of possibilities around us. The collection is completely made of soap. Tongue firmly in cheek, the collection offers an alternative to these problems. The jewellery is not meant to be permanent, one doesn‘t have to commit to it because wearing it means it will dissolve. All that remains is a memory, kindling the flames of desire once more.
