The industrial quality spoke to her of a hardness and permanence that goes against conventional ideas of femininity. The title itself is also a play on a tasteless misogynistic phrase that is often used to question how natural the colour of a woman?s hair is and appropriated to reclaim that space and put a new narrative to it.
